”Youth, gathering, dynamism, localism and traces of the past” are the key words that determine the conceptual approach of the project. Selçuk is a mediterranean town that has significant historical ties ; Although it currently has not a sea shore. Therefore, we wanted to see ”white masses” that are the symbols of the typical mediterranean architecture, in this town.Behind the partially ruined stone texture which symbolizes significant historical background of the region; the curtain of the dramas and compositions that would be staged stands. These two facts have been exhibited collaterally in a way that they are associated according to their closeness to the functions of the project. Agora, food court, education zones have been dressed with semi-transparent masses with white web patterns which symbolize mediterranean architecture; and the show center has been dressed with local stone pattern. In between them, colors of tangerines which already exist in the project area have been interspersed.
The project(in plan view) is designed as a series of associated passages joining the sporting zone opening at the eastern of the project area to Kubilay Street at the western side of it. At the most southern of these passages, there is the show center and it’s foyer. The staircase platforms which join the ground floor to the terraces of the first floor are deployed in the center of Kubilay Street front of the (project)area and the northeastern corner which opens to sporting zone. Open-air movie theater and first floor functions are reached by these platforms.
